C14500 Tellurium Copper Forging

Tellurium copper is a kind of tellurium bronze material, the American ASTM standard grade is C14500. C14500 tellurium copper is a kind of high-conducting easy cutting copper alloy material developed successfully in the 1960s in the United States according to its industrial development requirements. The tellurium copper alloy material has both good free cutting performance and excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as corrosion and electrical ablation performance. So it is the common material used in forging.

Like other copper forgings, C14500 tellurium copper can also be forged by closed die hot forging process. Forging of the UNS C14500 copper alloy can be done at 760 to 871°C (1400 to 1600°F). Forgeability of this alloy is 65.
