FAQs of Drop Forging
1. What Is Drop Forging?
Drop forging is the forming process by pressing steel bars after heating to the shapes we need between two engraved dies with a drop forging press.
2. What Materials Can Our Company Forge?
Alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum. Commonly used material specifications are: 35#, 45#, 20#, 20CrMnTi, 20Cr, 40Cr, Q235, Q345, 20CrMo, 30CrMo, 35CrMo, 42CrMo, ect.
3. How Large Of Drop Forgings Can We Forge? And What Is the Annual Output?
We can forge metal parts weights from 0.2kg-50kg. Our annual output is about 10,000t.
4. Comparing With Investment Casting, what are the Advantages of Drop Forging?
With drop forging technic, the advantages are that it will help to ontain more accuracy size tolerance and reduce or avoid second machining. Also, the mechanical properties will be greatly improved.
5. Can Our Company do Maching Also after Forging Process?
Yes, we could offer machining service as well, we have equipped with lots of advanced machining equipments, like milling machine, grinding machine, boring machine, cnc, nc lathe, etc.
6. How Do We Do Quality Control before Delivery?
We could do quality control from different sides. For example, except some production equipments, we also have relevant testing facilities to ensure correct chemical composition and mechanical properties. Besides, 1-2pcs sample will also be provided by free to our customer for testing before mass production.
7. How Long Will It Take Us to Finish Order for Sample And Mass Production?
Normally, it will take us about 25-30 working days to finish first sample, and another 30-40 working days for mass production. Detailed delivery time will be decided according to the structure and quantity of products.
8. What Are The Differences Between Open Die Forging And Closed Die Forging?
Closed die forging is a precision forging process for small parts, it will work under the press of mould. But for open die forging, no mould is required, it is designed for large steel parts, we just forge the large parts with hydraulic press.
9. What's The Payment Terms Of CFS Forge?
Tooling cost prepaid with order, 30% deposit of production paid by T/T after sample is approved, balance payment paid before delivery.
