C37700 Brass is an alloy mainly consisting of copper and zinc. This type of brass can be easily forged and are available in various shapes. Brass has high thermal conductivity. Forging

The hot forgeability rating of this alloy is 100. (Forging Brass=100). The recommended hot working temperature for this alloy is between 1200 and 1500 F.

Machinability

The machinability rating of this alloy is 80. (Where Alloy 360 FC Brass is 100).

Annealing

The annealing temperature for this alloy is between 800 and 1100 F.

Alloy C37700 is used as rod base stock for drop forgings requiring the excellent corrosion resistance &
machinability of brass. Typical applications include valve bodies, hardware, fittings & miscellaneous brass forgings.
